The change of the date of the Vitoria Stone Fair l Marmomac Latin America 2017 to June was not an impediment for exhibitors and buyers to present their products and launches in stones, machinery, technology and supplies in the exhibition. The international marble and granite fair, which ended on June 9, brought together more than 300 exhibitors from 20 countries yielding positive results for the ornamental stone production chain.
 
The president of Sindirochas, Tales Machado, stated that the fair was marked by an increasing trajectory of business and partnerships, which reinforced the greatness of Espírito Santo in the international market resuming the growth in the sector. "The Vitoria Stone Fair, as usual, is extremely important to promote Brazilian products, dictating trends, and this year, even if held in a different period than the usually known, did not disappoint companies and businessmen. Undoubtedly this event marked the strength of the segment of ornamental stones in the state of Espírito Santo that reacted quickly after the security crisis in the state, "he said.
 
“For 90 days, some actions were intensified in the main strategic markets and attracted exhibitors and buyers from different countries seeking beauties and diversities of Brazilian natural stones in the trade fair. First time buyers from Vietnam, Russia and Belgium visited the fair, "said the director of Milanez & Milaneze, Alberto Piz.
 
International Market
For a sector that traded US $ 277.4 million in Espírito Santo from January to April 2017, the strategy of the businessmen of the segment favoured business, increasing by more than 6% the price of marbles and granites in the last month, when compared to the same period last year.  Accumulated, the increase is 1.31%, compared to 2016.
 
In a disputed international market, where the State is consolidated by the quality of its materials and production capacity of its industrial park, the realization of the Vitoria Stone Fair l Marmomac Latin America in June, 2017 should bring satisfactory results for exports in the second half of the year.
 
"Surely the fair will contribute to the sector's exports to follow our expectation of stability, making the segment stand out in the Brazilian scenario," said the superintendent of the Brazilian Center of Exporters of Ornamental Stones (Centrorochas) Oloravia Tirello.
 
Taken as a gateway to future businesses and opening up of new costumers, there are different strategies of participation among the companies. However, the search for good business and opening new markets is constant.
 
Bárbara Secchin in charge of the Quartzblue sales, said that the Vitoria Stone Fair exceeded the expectations, given the presence of important clients during the four-day event. "Three of the largest companies in the United States were in our booth and visited Cachoeiro de Itapemirim. In general, it was a very interesting fair".
 
Henrique Tyrone, Marbrasa's commercial manager, added: "We had visitors of quality, considering current and potential customers," he said, noting the presence of Brazilians, Chinese, Latinos and buyers from the Middle East.
 
Participating in the fair for the fifth time, engineer Marcos Ribeiro from Dardi International Corporation was pleased with the fair's performance this year. "The change of date has slowed the flow of people visiting the stands, but we have noticed more people interested in making purchases, and that is what really happened," he stated.
 
PBA Stones approved the movement of customers, both domestic and foreign (Mexico and Eastern Europe). "We had an intense circulation of qualified visitors, even more than in previous years," said the executive director Fábio Cruz.
 
The Victoria Stone Fair | Marmomac Latin America is an achievement of Milanez & Milaneze, a company of the Veronafiere Group, promoted by the Union of Industries of Ornamental Stones, Cal and Limestone of the State (Sindirochas) and Technological Center of Marble and Granite (Cetemag).
