Opening from May 19 – 22, 2010 CARRARAMARMOTEC 2010, the international fair of marble,

 technologies and designs is scheduled to stage its 30th edition at CarraraFiere Exhibition Centre, Carrara, Italy.

This 30th edition is the first biennial show of CARRARAMARMOTEC  which now onward will be          held every alternate year.  CARRARAMARMOTEC 2010 will be celebrating this edition with many new features and solution for the promotion of natural stone and its newest applications.

According to Giorgio Bianchini, CarraraFiere Chairman, "CARRARAMARMOTEC 2010's message is loud and clear to confirm the role of the fair which has a consolidated natural relationship with the territory and which, thanks to the presence of the entire production line, is able to present the best of the local and world production as it is here that, thanks to the support of avant-garde technology and the availability of the most beautiful and important materials, natural stone becomes a value. We are convinced that using natural stone in architecture, design and art is the most direct and surest way of arousing interest and emotions as well as giving added value to works and with 2010 edition our aim is to provide an excellent opportunity for technical, commercial and cultural information."

Hence, CARRARAMARMOTEC 2010 will have a new language, one that is both modern and dynamic, the same applied by the "Natural Stone Vision", which opened at CARRARAMARMOTEC 2008 and consolidated its development this year with its participation in the Fuori Salone in Milan. This is a new promotional tool created for and by companies that, by taking part in the initiative, have decided to promote themselves using the values of excellence, quality and the made in Italy brand and investing in planning and technical research, leaving the old concept of the traditional trade fair behind them.

At CARRARAMARMOTEC 2010 "Natural Stone Vision" will not be just an area set aside for design and debate as in 2008 but an actual exhibition philosophy that aims to show visitors the beauty and elegance of natural stone that helps to give added value to individual products. The exhibition aims to approach again to give companies the opportunity to create something new, beautiful and amazing.

Building on the excellent results achieved in 2008, which recorded 400 exhibitors, including 44 foreign exhibitors from 18 countries and 19,120 visitors including 2,878 foreigners, CARRARAMARMOTEC 2010 will once again be presenting the best of the world production of marble, granite and other natural stones as raw materials and finished products together with quarrying and processing machinery, tools and accessories, transport vehicles and highly specialised services.

CARRARAMARMOTEC 2010 has three well defined objectives:
• To offer visitors a journey through excellence made in Italy
• To ensure that all the Italian stone districts present themselves with the best of their production
• To further consolidate its position as the strategic event for countries in the Mediterranean basin.

To make the event more lively and interesting , three awards including 25th Marble Architectural Award (MAA), Second Dressed Stone Design Award and First Innovation Technology Award will be given to winners. While MAA is given for showing excellence in the use of natural stone, Dressed Stone Design Award is open to students from universities and schools of design and architecture. The Innovation Design Technology Award is given to participating companies for their innovations in technology and machine designs.
